How Our Custom Printing Service Works:

It's a simple process to get your custom design printed:

  1. Submit Your Request: Gather the necessary details (see below) and send your request via email.
  2. Receive Your Quote: We'll carefully review your file(s) and requirements. Then, we'll send you a no-obligation quote outlining the cost and estimated turnaround time for your specific project.
  3. Confirm Your Order: If you're happy with the quote, let us know! We'll arrange payment (usually via a custom invoice) and schedule your print.
  4. Printing & Dispatch: We'll work our magic, printing your design with the care and quality Abi's Foundry is known for. Once printed, cleaned, cured, and quality-checked, we'll dispatch it using our standard Royal Mail Tracked service.

What We Need to Provide Your Quote:

To give you an accurate price and timeframe, please include the following information in your email:

  • Your STL File(s): Please attach the file(s) directly to your email. If the files are very large, please upload them to a secure cloud storage service (like Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer) and provide a shareable download link.
  • Desired Size / Scale: Let us know the scale you need (e.g., standard 28mm or 32mm heroic scale for miniatures) or provide specific dimensions (height, width, depth in mm or inches) if critical. If you're unsure, tell us the intended use, and we can usually suggest appropriate sizing.
  • Quantity: How many copies of each file do you need printed?
  • Resin Preference (Optional): Our standard is a high-detail grey or brown resin, ideal for priming and painting. If you have specific requirements (e.g., needing a tougher resin for functional parts), please mention it, though options may be limited and could affect the price.
  • Any Special Instructions: Do you need the model hollowed (if applicable)? Do you have specific requirements for the base (or need one added/removed)? Any other details we should know?

Important Considerations:

  • File Rights & Licensing: By submitting a file for printing, you confirm that you have the full legal right and/or necessary license to reproduce that design. Abi's Foundry acts solely as a printing service provider for files supplied by you and assumes no liability for copyright or intellectual property infringement.
  • Printability: We will review your file's suitability for resin printing. While most files designed for miniatures print well, some complex models may require adjustments or might rarely be unsuitable. We will advise you if we foresee any significant issues.
  • Pricing: Custom printing is priced on a case-by-case basis. Factors include calculated resin usage, print time, model complexity, file preparation time (if any), and the level of finishing required.
  • Turnaround Time: Custom orders often require more individual attention than standard catalogue items. The estimated turnaround time (from payment to dispatch) will be provided with your quote but may be slightly longer than our standard 3-5 working days.
